Coming up: November housing starts
Check back for a report after the data is released. New-home construction activity likely increased in November after falling short of expectations the month prior, according to economists surveyed by MarketWatch. The continued shortage of existing homes for sale, in light of high home-buying demand, is supportive of a faster pace of home construction. Economists polled by MarketWatch expect housing starts to occur at a median pace of 1.66 million and building permits to come in at a median pace of 1.56 million.
