The stage is set for a huge occasion at Parc des Princes on Friday evening as France U23 and Spain U23 battle it out for Olympic Gold in Paris.

Both nations showed tremendous courage to claim their place in Friday's final with both having to come from behind in their respective semi-finals against Egypt and Morocco.

An impressive Spanish side secured a 2:1 victory against the Moroccans with late goals from Fermin Lopez and Juanlu Sanchez turning the tie around for Santi Denia′s side. 

Entertainment has followed La Roja with all five of their Olympic contests seeing at least three goals scored, while four of those matches also saw BTTS. While strong in attack - Spain have scored 11 goals at this competition - La Roja have managed just one clean sheet, in a 3:0 win against Japan in the group phase, and they are unlikely to add to that tally against a strong French side.

The host nation secured their place in the final in Paris with a similarly hard-fought semi-final victory against African opponents in the shape of Egypt. Having fallen behind in the second-half, Jean Mateta proved the hero, with the Crystal Palace forward first netting a vital equaliser, before scoring a decisive second goal in extra-time. Michael Olise put the seal on a 3:1 victory for Thierry Henry′s unbeaten side. 

While France had kept clean sheets in all four victories prior to their semi-final success, Les Bleues have looked a little suspect defensively. It's hard to imagine them keeping out a Spanish side that have scored at least two goals in four of five games at this tournament.

In what should prove a fitting end to a fascinating competition, I′m backing both teams to score, with the destination of the gold medals unlikely to be decided in the regulation 90 minutes. 

A high-quality contest should see BTTS, with the draw also offering plenty of value given the even-natured feel of this final.
