- Venue: Stadio Brianteo
Monza will have the chance to go unbeaten in three consecutive Serie A games for only the second time in 2024 when they host Bologna on Sunday afternoon.
Since winning promotion through the play-offs in Serie B at the end of the 2021-22 campaign, Monza have managed to avoid relegation from the Italian top flight. I biancorossi finished the 2022-23 campaign seven places above the relegation zone, while last season they dropped their standards a bit, finishing just ten points above the bottom three. Alessandro Nesta’s side have yet to taste victory across all competitions this season but after the draw with the Champions Inter last time out, they will fancy their chances against Bologna this weekend.
Speaking of wins, Bologna have not also managed to win a single match this season, with the visitors drawing four and losing one of their five games played so far in all competitions. The visitors were last in action against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League Renato Dall’Ara where they failed to find the back of the net for the second time this season.
Monza vs Bologna Betting Tips: Draw & Under 2.5 goals
Going back to last season, Monza have not won any of their last fourteen competitive matches and that run is likely to be extended this weekend. However, the White and Reds didn’t give many goals away in their recent outings, with the team keeping a clean sheet in three of their five games so far this season. All but one of those encounters ended with under 2.5 goals.
Meetings between Monza and Bologna aren’t also known for being entertaining. Each of the last three ended with under one goal and I think we could be in for a similar result on Sunday afternoon.
- Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
- Monza vs Bologna prediction: 0-0
