Sudan will be looking to continue their recent impressive form across all competitions when they host Niger in Juba on Wednesday night.
The last time Sudan reached the finals of the AFCON Cup of Nations was in 2022. The hosts finished third with just one point in a group that included the likes of Guinea-Bissau, Egypt and Nigeria, but they have improved massively since then. The Secretarybirds go into Wednesday's game on a four-match unbeaten run and will be hoping to extend that run when they begin their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Niger meanwhile last qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations more than a decade ago. They've finished bottom of their group in each of their last two qualifying campaigns and their recent form doesn't suggest that things will change this time around. They travel to Sudan having lost five of their last six matches.
Sudan vs Niger Betting Tips: Sudan to win
These two sides last met over two years ago in a friendly encounter. Sudan ran away with a 3-0 win and I fancy them to replicate that sort of performance on Wednesday. James Kwesi Appiah’s side enter this game with a run of three consecutive wins in competitive matches and kept a clean sheet in all three fixtures.
Niger have been poor both offensively and defensively over the course of their last two games or so. In fact the only clean sheet the visitors kept in that spell was in a friendly against Somalia. They failed to score in four of the six competitive games played in that spell.

Sudan team news
Al-Merrikh SC striker Ramadan Agab is the most valuable player in the Sudanese squad. The 34-year-old returns to the squad after missing the World Cup qualifying encounters with Mauritania and South Sudan in June.
Mohamed Abdelrahman Yousif Yagoub is expected to lead the line and could be supported by Yasser Muzammil, while the youngest member of the squad, Marwan Taha Salih, will be hoping for a place in defence.

Niger team news
As for Niger, Ali Mohamed (€2.00 million) is the most highly rated player. The Maccabi Haifa midfielder is likely to partner Ousmane Diabaté in the engine room, while Mahamadou Tanja will retain his place between the sticks.
Having got on the scoresheet in the nations’ last competitive match in November last year against Zambia, Boubacar Djibrill Goumey is expected to lead the line and could be joined by Amadou Moutari who also got on the scoresheet in that game.
