Jevgenijs ‘The Hurricane’ Aleksejevs. Profile and record
Our highlight of the day comes from Huddersfield as Dimitrios Goutas, sponsored by MightyTips, scored in Cardiff City's 4-0 win on the road. Lewis Travis was rested in a Blackburn Rovers win in Millwall.
A spectacular display from Cardiff secured them a 4-0 win at their rivals Huddersfield. Dimitrios Goutas scored in the 12th minute, putting the Bluebirds up 2-0.
Goutas not only scored, evading his marker and heading home from a corner, but was part of a solid Cardiff defense that kept a clean sheet.
With Callum Robinson and Yakou Me?té also on target before the break, Cardiff were well on their way to winning the match. Perry Ng added a fourth early in the second half, killing the game off.
This win sees Cardiff sneak into the 6th position in the table, level on points with West Brom who sit 5th.
Lewis Travis did not feature in Millwall but was not missed for Blackburn.
Blackburn fell behind but their trip was not wasted as a 2-1 comeback rewarded their efforts. Joe Rankin-Costello retained his goal-scoring fom from the previous game and found the net.
Callum Brittain added another goal to Blackburn’s tally after the half-time, which turned out to be the winner.
This puts Blackburn Rovers level on points with Sunderland who have lost their last two games.
Cardiff City welcome Bristol City to Wales on the 28th October, and we hope to see more good performances from Dimitrios Goutas. On the same day, Blackburn host Welsh rivals Swansea in what seems to be a great matchup. Lewis Travis will be available after a midweek rest.
